چکیده
Mięśniak gładkokomórkowy macicy (Leiomyoma uteri) jest niezłośliwym nowotworem monoklonalnym złożonym z komórek mięśni gładkich i zrębu zbudowanego z włóknistej tkanki łącznej. Najczęściej jest umiejscowiony w błonie mięśniowej macicy u kobiet w wieku rozrodczym. Czynnikami mogącymi przyspieszać jego wzrost są ciąża i terapia hormonalna. Jest to także guz pośrednio zależny od stężenia hormonów płciowych. W jego powstawaniu uczestniczą czynniki wzrostu i cytokiny. Modulacja aktywności mitotycznej, przerost komórek oraz nadmierne gromadzenie macierzy pozakomórkowej to główne przyczyny wzrostu leiomyoma. Najważniejszym czynnikiem proliferacyjnym komórek nowotworowych w leiomyoma uteri są czynniki z nadrodziny TGF-b. TGF-b1 i -b3 pobudzają syntezę różnorodnych składników macierzy pozakomórkowej oraz hamują syntezę enzymów degradujących macierz, co prowadzi do nadmiernego i nieprawidłowego rozrostu tkanki.
